Ye Olde Genealogie Shoppe has collected information on all wills recorded in Indiana prior to 1881. This data is available in the results of two projects.
Our service will provide you with a one-time search for the entire state for a single surname. Your ancestor's will may have been filed in a county unknown to you. Fathers, brothers, uncles, or grandfathers may have left wills that you know nothing about. This search will save you the time and energy of having to check each county individually.
The fee for the service (which includes shipping and handling) is:
- Phase I - $5.00 per surname
- Phase II - $5.00 per surname
- Both phases, one surname, $7.50
Your report will include the name of the testator, county in which the will is recorded, date, book, and page number. Use the standard order form and indicate Phase I or II (or both) and the surname you wish to have researched. If you are ordering only research services please mark out the shipping and handling charges. Upon receiving your listing you may want to order an abstract of a individual will. Abstracts are available for some counties, see the information below.

Indiana Wills Abstracts After obtaining your surname list from the service offered above you may wish to obtain more detailed information from a will. Or you may already know about a will and need more information. An abstract may furnish important data concerning that elusive ancestor.
We can provide an abstract of any one will for the following counties within the dates listed. Abstracts of any one will are available for $5.00 each. (Shipping and Handling included.) Use the order form and indicate that you are ordering a will abstract and provide the surname, county, date, book, and page data from your surname report.
