Because of the limited amount of published records available to researchers, Indiana residents who resided in the Indiana Territory, before statehood in 1816, were very hard to find. Charles Franklin has prepared this book to help fill the record void from ca 1732 when early traders were residing in Vincennes, to 1820, when the first federal census was taken. 64 lists of Indiana Territorial residents who were, as the author says, "either fighting, voting, or complaining." They provide the name of the testator, date, county, book, and page number of the will as recorded in the courthouse. These will enable the researcher to locate the testator of any will filed in Indiana prior to 1881.
