*** *** *** *** *** ***Here is a brief description of the two speeches I am going to give. Pat Gooldy will speak on "Researching in Kentucky" in the morning. She will show you the basics of researching in Kentucky. Some of the places to go and what to look for when you get there! After a catered lunch, she will speak again on "What to Do When There Are No Vital Records": She'll help you find your ancestor's information when there are no vital records such as birth, marriage and death certificates to be found. Granted, the certificates are very nice to have. But the information lurks in many other records if the certificates no longer exist or are just no longer available.
Pat Gooldy is a retired second grade school teacher, historian, genealogist, author, editor and lecturer. She and her husband, Ray, spent over 2½ years in Germany from 1969 to 1972. She was teaching and traveling. while he finished up his Army career of twenty years, nine months and seventeen days. She, with her late husband, Ray Gooldy, started the shop in 1975, then owned and operated "Ye Olde Genealogy Shoppe" together in Indianapolis, IN. She now carries on with the shop. She is pleased to bring to her readers genealogical information right into your home on your own computer via her twice weekly, sometimes lengthy, newsletters which introduce genealogists to about 1,000 books per year with a substantial amount of basic information about the books and sometimes an abbreviated index. [All of you who are reading this on today's newsletter know all about those, don't you?]
If you are able to be with us in Piqua, clip out the coupon (sorry it is expired now) at the bottom of this newsletter and bring it with you to either one of these seminars for a discount on your purchases. Pat from YOGS.
